OK, so I told my new boss I wasn’t the blogging type but it seems the easiest way to keep track of ideas about T&L and libraries. The first ones are these: we need to focus on how to find answers to questions, not how to find books and articles; how can we use mashups in instruction; we should investigate Penn Tags; and what about a debate on the future of the catalogue, or specific topics in instructional design?

PennTags, or something like PennTags would be very cool indeed, unfortunately I can’t see anywhere on http://tags.library.upenn.edu that suggests that PennTags is reusable by other institutions — no download links or licenses or anything like that.

I’m with you on the learning how to find answers to questions rather than learning to use the catalogue and articles. I saw an interesting post the other day that noted that we need to work on learning – interfaces, resources, etc change – if we can’t ask the questions, how can we find the information? We need to develop the skills for truly life-long learning.
